Can you remember a time that someone showed you kindness?

How did you feel?

Think back to a time when you showed kindness to someone.

How did you feel?

It is known that most people will stop to help if asked even if they didn’t stop earlier. This is a basic human trait. The giver and the receiver, both feel good in this equation. Even the tiniest act of kindness makes us feel good when given and received with no strings attached. Being kind does not cost us anything but gives a lot to all involved.

Happy people indulge in random acts of kindness as a way of life.

They open doors, help the elderly, give sincere compliments, help where they can and don’t keep score or expect something in return. They don’t even think about it, so natural it is to their character, even if they do use the faculty of discernment when asked to help to avoid getting trapped in the energy draining games of eternal victims seeking help from any or all quarters.

Being helpful is an integral part of who they are — kind and compassionate — and they do not forget to extend this to themselves.

This is also done without judgement of any kind.

A non-judgemental attitude is simply another form of Love!

Happy people act from the generosity and goodness of their heart and for compassion of another creature’s need, regardless of their opinions about their status in life or the choices they may have made. They do not waste time weighing the pros and cons of who they may be dealing with, they simply do the deed and then go about their cheerful business as usual.

Kindness and compassion are part of the magical circle of happy ripples and chain-effects of goodness. Once started, the effects carry on way beyond what the initiator can see. People who receive kindness and compassion when in need remember it long after the giver has forgotten and often will seek to pay it forward. Think back to a time when you were in dire need of something and someone stepped in to give you a helping hand without asking for or expecting anything in return. Capture that feeling and seek to pass it along.

Become a glowing member of the tribe of the kind and the compassionate. Their presence is an inspiration, a beacon of light in the world.
